AROUND 30 000 IT SPECIALISTS ANNUALLY COME TO UKRAINIAN LABOR MARKET…

Recently, outsourcing becomes more and more about availability of the qualified resources rather than saving costs.

In past three years Ukraine has become a big player in outsourcing industry and the most attractive outsourcing destination in Central and Eastern Europe.

IT market has grown on more than 40% and reached 3.1 billion $ for 2007. 544 million $ are dedicated to IT services including outsourcing, IT consulting etc.

It’s mainly due to availability of IT resources on the market. The demand of IT specialist is way above the supply throughout the whole Europe.

With the population of 47 million inhabitants, currently, there are 670 colleges and 337 Universities through out Ukraine. 70% of adult Ukrainians have either secondary or higher education and overall literacy rate in the country is 99%.

According to 2007 results, there are 2.27 million of students in Ukraine. 670 thousands are technical students out of which 30 000 ANNUAL GRADUATES basically fit to software development jobs.

Nowadays, there are 800 companies involved in outsourcing software development out of more than 4 000 IT related companies in Ukraine. Cities of well developed IT industry and technical education are Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Chernovtsy.

Besides available resources, nearshore outsourcing to Ukraine is advantageous due to:

  1. Visa-free entrance to the country.
  2. Negligible distance and time difference.
  3. Cultural proximity
  4. Competitive prices and salaries of IT professionals.
